AEROSMITH Not Planning Any Public SUPER BOWL Activities

January 29, 2005

Launch Radio Networks is reporting that the members of AEROSMITH are backing their hometown New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, but don't expect to see them do anything in public. The band is in the midst of its year-long hiatus, so unlike years past, they won't be featured performers at the game. Lead guitarist Joe Perry said that they might possibly attend some sort of event, but that they're basically staying low-key. "All I can say is that we'll probably be there in spirit," Perry told Launch. "I don't know — I've been up to quite a few games, myself and my family, to support them. I don't know — Steven may, he may do something. I mean, he sang the national anthem at the start of the, the (Boston Red) Sox series, so we definitely are supporters there."

The Patriots will meet the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX (39) at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 6.

Perry will release a solo album in March, and he plans to tour behind it.
